SOLIDARITY_EXTRA_WHITE_BORDER.jpgFOXBOROUGH - Today, the Paul Feeney for State Senate campaign formally announces the endorsement of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts (PFFM) citing Feeney’s experience and commitment to firefighters locally and throughout the State.

“I am honored to have the support of Firefighters in our district and throughout Massachusetts.  The hard working men and women of our local fire departments are on the front lines of public safety and risk their own lives to deal with many different types of emergencies each day.  They work hard to keep us safe. I am grateful for their service and their support and look forward to partnering with them to strengthen our communities.”  Feeney said.

“Paul Feeney is a fierce advocate for working families and public safety.  As a Selectman in Foxborough, he partnered with firefighters to ensure that they had the resources necessary to do their jobs.  We believe that Paul is the best person for this job and will be a strong voice for firefighters throughout Massachusetts and for the people of the Bristol & Norfolk district.” Stated Rich MacKinnon Jr., President of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts.

“Senator Timilty was a great ally of firefighters in this district.  We could always count on him to stand up for our values.  We believe that Paul Feeney is cut from that same cloth and has shown a passion for standing up for people and our communities.  Mansfield Firefighters are proud to support Paul in this election.” Said Pat Kelley, President of Mansfield Firefighters Local 1820.

Feeney currently works as a technician for a telecommunications company and as the Legislative Director for IBEW Local 2222. In addition to his term on the Foxboro Board of Selectmen, Feeney previously served as the first Chief of Staff to Senator James Timilty, a senior campaign official for Congressman Stephen Lynch’s bid for Senate in 2013 and as the Massachusetts State Director for the Bernie Sanders for President Campaign.  Paul is 39 years old and resides in Foxboro with his wife Laura who owns and operates a licensed family child care business in the couple's home.
The Special Election is to fill the Massachusetts State Senate seat previously held by Senator James E. Timilty.  A primary has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th and the general election set for Tuesday, October 17th.  The district includes parts of Attleboro and Sharon, the communities of Foxboro, Mansfield, Medfield, Norton, Rehoboth, Seekonk and Walpole.
